NCT Offences

NCT offences are similar to No Insurance or No Driver’s Licence offences in the sense that they are regarded as “strict liability” offences i.e. you either had an NCT certificate when you were stopped by the Garda or you did not. Excuses are largely irrelevant. 

Although seemingly minor in severity, driving without a valid NCT will attract a court prosecution and upon conviction, penalty points. Again, the focus here for you is to avoid a conviction if at all possible.
